Invoice Koi

Invoicing for junk removal companies

The price of a haul-away is not the price of the work. It is the price of the work plus what it costs to make it disappear, and the fees for a refrigerator, a mattress and a truck load of general waste are a real number that arrives after the job is done. A customer who was quoted for hours and then billed for tickets feels overcharged even when they are not.

What junk removal companies
put on an invoice.

These go in your price book once, with your own prices against them. After that a line is one tap: the item, the description, the unit and the price fill themselves, and the totals resolve underneath.

02Why junk removal companies use it

Three things that
save the evening.

The dump ticket becomes the line

Photograph the ticket and it is read into an expense with the merchant, the date, the total and the tax. If the customer is covering it, put it back on their invoice as a line and it lands with the figure it actually was.

Hours that end up on the invoice

Track the time on site against the client and turn it into a line, rather than reconstructing a morning from memory once the truck is unloaded.

Labor, loads and disposal read as three things

Grouped subtotals let a haul-away be explained in the order it happened, which is the difference between a bill that gets paid and a bill that gets a phone call.

03 · Questions

Asked by junk removal companies.

How do I put dump fees on the invoice at what they cost?

Scan the ticket into an expense and re-bill it as a line. Taking it back off removes that line and no other, so a change of mind does not leave a stray charge.

Can I quote a haul-away before seeing the house?

Send an estimate with the loads and hours you expect, then edit the lines when it converts. What you bill is what happened, not what you guessed on the phone.

Can I bill a property manager for several jobs at once?

Yes. Put each property under its own heading on one invoice with its own subtotal, or raise one per job. The reports total them either way.
