Can I write the invoice on my phone on site?

That is what it is for. Pick the client, tap your rates, send the PDF, with no signal if that is what the site has.

Can I price by the square metre?

Yes. Every price-book line carries its own unit, so m² and hourly labour sit on the same invoice.

What does it cost?

A subscription for sending. Setting up your business and writing drafts are free; issuing invoices, estimates and receipts needs a subscription, an annual plan or a weekly one, with a free trial where your store offers one. Payments collected through Koi cost 0.35% with a subscription, or 0.7% + £0.10 without one, plus Stripe fees. Recording payments received elsewhere has no Koi fee.
