Invoice Koi

Invoicing for pressure washing contractors

The whole job is decided in the first five minutes, standing on the drive working out what it is: how many m², how bad the weeds are, whether it wants resanding after. Get that number in front of the customer while you are both looking at the same driveway and the job is usually yours. Post it two days later and it is a price competing with two other prices.

What pressure washing contractors
put on an invoice.

These go in your price book once, with your own prices against them. After that a line is one tap: the item, the description, the unit and the price fill themselves, and the totals resolve underneath.

02Why pressure washing contractors use it

Three things that
save the evening.

Priced on the drive, agreed on the drive

Build the estimate standing on the job with the areas as lines, show them the total, and take it away agreed. When they accept, it converts to an invoice with the lines and terms carried across.

Your rate per m², not arithmetic in your head

The price book holds each surface at its own rate and its own unit. Put in the area and the line works itself out, which is what stops a big drive being underpriced at the gate.

Cleaning, resanding and sealing as three decisions

Group them with their own subtotals and the customer can say yes to two of the three, which is a better outcome than a single number they say no to.

03 · Questions

Asked by pressure washing contractors.

Can I price a driveway by the square metre?

Yes. A price-book line carries its own unit, so cleaning bills per m², a day of render work bills per day, and both sit on the same document.

How do I quote before I have measured?

Send an estimate with the areas as you measured them on site. If the job changes, edit the lines when it becomes an invoice: nothing is locked by having been quoted.

Can I show sealing as an optional extra?

Put it under its own heading with its own subtotal so the price of it is visible on its own, and take the group off if they decide against it.
