Is there a free invoice app with no subscription?

Yes, but sending from the Invoice Koi app is not it: that needs a subscription. What needs no subscription, no account and no install is the free invoice generator on this site, which makes a PDF invoice in any browser. A few other apps have free plans that send, named below.

In the app, everything up to sending is free. You can install it, set up your business, add clients and rates, and write drafts without paying. The app calls that the Free plan. Issuing a numbered invoice, estimate or receipt is what the subscription is for: £99.99 billed yearly or £9.99 billed weekly, at UK App Store prices, with the details below.

If you need an app that sends for nothing, some do. Of the 12 apps in our comparisons, Wave and Square Invoices put no cap on invoices on their free plans, and Bookipi, Contractor+ and Zoho Invoice have free plans with a cap. Each comparison says what that plan leaves out. If one of them is enough for you, it costs less than any subscription.

Send unlimited invoices, estimates and receipts with an annual solo plan at £99.99 billed yearly (about £8.33 a month), or a weekly solo plan at £9.99 billed weekly (UK App Store prices). Both plans include the features below.

Eligible new iOS subscribers: two weeks free on annual, one week on weekly. Nothing starts until you confirm the purchase. Without a trial, the displayed price applies immediately. Renews automatically until cancelled in your store account settings.

Payment collection has separate fees. Koi charges 0.35% on payments collected through it with a subscription, or 0.7% + 0.10 in the payment currency without one, plus Stripe processing fees. Zero-decimal currencies have no fixed part, and payments you record yourself have no Koi fee.

Existing customers keep their promised core document access.

Your records stay yours. After expiry, view, export or resend issued records and record or collect outstanding payments. New documents need a subscription or eligible trial, except where existing access is preserved.

Is there a free trial?

Eligible new iOS subscribers get two weeks free on annual or one week on weekly. Your store shows local prices and eligibility before purchase.

Is there an invoice limit?

Not with an active subscription or eligible store trial: invoices, estimates and receipts are not counted. Before subscribing, new customers can write drafts. Existing customers keep their promised core document access.

What happens if I stop paying?

Your records stay yours. After expiry, view, export or resend issued records and record or collect outstanding payments. New documents need a subscription or eligible trial, except where existing access is preserved. Existing customers keep their promised core document access.

How do you make money?

From subscriptions and fees on payments collected through Koi. Stripe processing fees also apply. Recording payments received elsewhere has no Koi fee.

Do I need an account to use it?

No account is needed for core invoicing. Sign in for cloud backup, a second device or payment collection. Payments also need Stripe setup. Subscriptions use your App Store or Google Play account.

Is there a watermark on the invoice?

No. Invoices show your own business name, logo and accent colour, with no Invoice Koi watermark.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes. Create invoices, estimates and PDFs offline on your phone. AI, cloud backup and payment collection need an internet connection.

Is there a version for Android?

Yes. Invoice Koi is on Google Play for Android 8.0 or later, and it is the same app as the iPhone one. The iPhone app requires iOS 16.4 or later.
